Ashutosh Tewari

Dr. Ashutosh Tewari is Professor and the System Chair of the Milton and Carroll Petrie Department of Urology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Health System. He is additionally the Director of the Center of Excellence for Prostate Cancer and Surgeon in Chief at the Tisch Cancer Institute. Dr. Tewari has been involved in the development of Robotic Prostatectomy since its inception and currently serves as President of the Society for Urologic Robotic Surgeons (SURS).  He has performed over 7,500 robotic prostatectomies in his career. A recipient of research grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Defense (DOD), he has authored more than 250 papers in peer-reviewed publications. In 2012, he was honored with the American Urological Association Gold Cystoscope Award for outstanding contributions to the field of urologic oncology.
